The business newspaper Les Echos (French version of the WSJ/FT) has published a piece on customer empowerment.

A recent initiatve by McDonalds invited French customers to vote and call the shots on which limited edition classic burger would be launched – McTimber, McSummer and McFarmer were the winners – 40,000 online votes were cast.

A similar empowerment vote was run with shoppers and tenants of the Bordeaux Lac shopping center – who got to call the shots on the development and extension of the mall. And Eurostar, the high speed European train network, including the channel tunnel, invited business class passengers to choose the actress to appear in their new ad campaign.
